If
there was some kind of prize for "Best Remix Selections in 2009" this
pack would be a very strong contender. Loco Dice proves he has
impeccable taste by picking out a bunch of remixes of his "7 Dunham
Place" album from Marcel
Dettmann, Onur Ozer, Marco Carola and Mike
Huckaby who all turn in seriously fresh rerubs for your 1's and 2's.
Dettmann turns up two 'Responses' of "Tight Laces" with the first
coasting along on a subdriven technohouse rhythm, among the most
refined and groovesome he's produced, before the 2nd response kicks in
with a far heavier version made for peak time club destruction. These
couple of cuts show a producer at the top of his form and are pretty
much worth the price of admission alone. The "Essential Purchase"
factor is increased with Onur Ozer's mix of "Breakfast At Nina's" on
the flip, coming over like a lost Villalobos production with dive
bombing bass pressure and undeniably kinky tech house rhythms. which
brings us to Mike Huckaby's remix for dessert with a deep S Y N T H
special version of "Black Truffles In The Snow", playing long and very
strong with a phat analogue techno number up there with the best of his
recent productions. A very big tip for followers of fresh techno! Enjoy!
This vinyl is more noisy than usual, especially at the end of the first track. I did my best.
